City residents will get the chance to discuss issues facing their neighborhoods directly with city officials as annual ward meetings start Monday.
The first meeting will be held for residents of Wards 5 and 6 at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Hanson Professional Services, 1525 S. Sixth St.
Langfelder said he expected some items to come up at each meeting, like the state’s capital construction bill and the rollout of legalized cannabis for recreational use, for instance.
But for the most part, residents attending will set the agenda and share with city officials any questions, comments or concerns they might have.
″(The whole purpose of) the ward plan meetings is to try and get information from the people in attendance — what’s important to them, what they’d like to see not only in their neighborhood but also in the city, what the prioritization should be,” Langfelder said.
